Ex-Formula One driver and 2009 World Champion Jenson Button is parting ways with his McLaren P1 after numerous years of ownership.

Button’s P1 was ordered from the factory with a McLaren Special Operations Grauschwartz Grey paint scheme as well as the optional Stealth Pack and an MSO grey/black alcantara interior. Alongside the incredible grey paint, Button’s P1 also features forged wheels and bright yellow brake calipers. It’s certainly not one of the brightest P1s out there but it is definitely one of the most sophisticated.

Also making Button’s P1 stand out from most is its optional ‘Track Mode 2’ system. This was a bespoke software option offered by MSO for a cool £20,000 ($26,000) that allows for a road legal version of ‘Track Mode’. We never knew this option existed until now and Button’s P1 may be the only example equipped with it.

Numerous other options were selected by Button from the factory. These include a Meridian Sound System, Vehicle Tracking System, front and rear parking sensors, and Cadmium Yellow contrast stitching.

Taking to Instagram, Button says he is selling the car because he now lives in the United States and no longer has the time to drive it. He has a 675LT Spider in LA to fulfil all his McLaren desires.

Despite owning the P1 for a number of years, Button has only put 550 miles (885 km) on it, making the £1.6 million ($2.09 million) asking price totally reasonable.

Powering the car is a twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V8 engine paired to an electric motor to deliver a combined 903 hp. All of this power is sent through the rear wheels via a seven-speed transmission.
