With all the hype surrounding the next generation BMW M3, sometimes it’s easy to overlook the older models.
It’s true that they can’t win a drag race against a modern day stock mega hatch, but the E46 is still held in high regard by petrolheads.
And while nothing compares to a stock BMW M3 in pristine condition, some owners will always go down the tuning road.

Take this M3, for example, which has been fitted with a Pandem Rocketbunny widebody kit. It consists of bolt-on fenders, new front lip, rear ducklid spoiler and several other parts made of FRP and costing $2,700.
Other mods include the Phoenix Yellow vinyl wrap, custom headlights, some carbon fiber inserts, a GTR hood and a set of CCW Classic custom wheels with a Matte Gunmetal and Polished Aluminum finish.
Elsewhere, the car has a new suspension and a new engine, which is pretty much the same S54B32, only with an ECU tune, new air intake, aftermarket exhaust and other tweaks that give it a bit more power and torque.
The exact output is unknown, but the stock naturally aspirated 3.2-liter unit makes 343 hp (348 PS / 256 kW) and 269 lb-ft (365 Nm) of torque. It allows the M3 E46 to reach 62 mph (100 km/h) in 5.1 seconds and max out at 155 mph (250 km/h) or 171 (276 km/h) in the case of some special editions.
Now, this M3 might draw attention and it should be faster than the stock car, but we’re not sure this slammed suspension, deep dish wheels and bolt-on fenders really work. In fact, we’d go for the factory look each and every day of the week and twice on Sundays – but, hey, that’s just us.
