The people from Auto-Dynamics tend to keep things as simple as possible when it comes to pulling the curtain up for new products.
We’ve already seen what they can do to the BMW X5 M, and their latest project, a tuned M550i xDrive follows a similar route, with ECU remapping and an aftermarket exhaust system by AC Schnitzer.
With all upgrades up and running, the twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 develops 539 PS (531 hp / 396 kW) and 788 Nm (581 lb-ft) of torque, or 61 PS (60 hp / 45 kW) less and 38 Nm (28 lb-ft) more than the current M5.
The Polish tuner hasn’t disclosed any performance numbers, except for the fact that the 100 to 200 km/h (62-124 mph) acceleration is “colossal”. Given that the M5 accelerates from naught to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 3.4 seconds, and all the way up to 305 km/h (189 mph) with the M Driver’s Package, we’d expect the tuned M550i to post similar numbers.
Auto-Dynamics haven’t taken their potent executive sedan to a spectacular landscape for a proper photo shoot either, as the gallery shows it testing on the dyno, with emphasis on the aforementioned exhaust system, with 90 mm (3.54 in) black satin tips.
