The 2019 Mazda MX-5 has arrived in the States with a starting MSRP of $25,730 for the base Sport model, equipped with a six-speed manual gearbox. If you dislike the third pedal, the six-speed auto version will cost you an additional $1,350 premium.
LED headlights and taillights, 7-inch infotainment system, six-speaker sound system, Bluetooth, two USB ports, leather-wrapped steering wheel, gear shifter and parking brake, keyless entry and multi-function steering wheel are all offered as standard. In this grade, you only get 16-inch wheels though.
Mazda says the entry-level model can be supplemented with the I-ActivSense Sport Package, which adds Smart City Brake, Lane Departure Warning and Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, for an extra $850.
Priced from $30,780 for the six-speed manual transmission, and $31,855 for the six-speed auto, the 2019 Mazda MX-5 Grand Touring is next in the lineup. It adds 17-inch alloy wheels, body-colr interior trim, dusk-sensing headlights, auto-dimming rearview mirror with Homelink, automatic windshield wipers, automatic climate control, heated leather-trimmed seats, Bose sound system and SiriusXM Satellite radio.
