The Series 3 Lotus Exige has been in production since 2012, and while it could benefit from an update, it remains one of the best-handling sports cars on the market and is a favorite among those looking for the perfect weekend and occasional track car.

In recent years, the British manufacturer has been routinely updating the Exige and offering increasingly-faster variants, the most potent of which delivers 430 hp and 440 Nm of torque. However, those figures weren’t enough for this Lotus lover.

In order to create the ultimate Exige track car, this owner decided to do the hard work and outfitted the Toyota-sourced V6 engine with a Harrop TVS1900 supercharger. Thanks to the blower and a custom Ajko titanium exhaust from the same company responsible for the Pagani Huayra’s exhaust, the car now delivers 500 hp. It also happens to sound absolutely marvelous.

The owner of the car recently took to the Franciacorta circuit in his expensive toy during the Time Attack Italia 2018 event. The driver was able to pump in some very impressive lap times and excited the crowds with the vehicle’s exciting soundtrack.

Vehicles from Lotus may have a bad rep over some reliability issues, but there’s no denying that the Hethel-made machines remain some of the most involving on the market.
