After unveiling their 03 Sedan at the Chengdu Motor Show in August, Lynk & Co is now ready to present a racing version of that very same car.

Built by Geely Motorsport and developed to TCR regulations, it’s the result of a partnership with Cyan Racing, which ran Volvo’s title-winning 2017 WTCC program.

The TCR racer was presented during an exclusive event at Fuji Raceway in Japan, and it will enter the FIA WTCR next year, where it “will launch an assault” on other automotive brands competing in the series, such as Audi, Alfa Romeo, Honda, Hyundai, Peugeot, Seat and Volkswagen.

“To once again aim for the World Title when starting my seventh season with Cyan Racing is a dream come true”, commented Thed Bjork, a Swede racing driver who will put one of the Lynk & Co TCR cars built for Cyan Racing through its paces in 2019.

The next step of the partnership between Lynk & Co and Cyan Racing will be the development of a joint performance concept. Named the Lynk & Co 03 Cyan, it’s being described by Cyan as their “interpretation of a TCR race car for the road”, and will have 500 PS (493 hp / 368 kW) to play with.

“This groundbreaking cooperation with Lynk & Co that will include the development of a high-performance concept road car is nothing less amazing”, added Bjork.

“We will utilize our experience from past performance road car projects (Volvo C30 and S60 concepts) in combination with the vast data that we will gain from the racing program through thousands and thousands of laps on racing circuits all over the world in extreme conditions”, said Cyan Racing’s CEO, Christian Dahl.
