Had enough videos of the McLaren 720S whooping just about every derrière it comes across in a straight line? Nope, neither have we, especially since there’s an abundance of “test subjects” to throw at it.
The latest in line to try its luck is the Ferrari 812 Superfast, with its naturally-aspirated 6.5-liter V12 producing 800 PS (789 HP) and 718 Nm (530 lb-ft) of torque. These numbers make it the most powerful naturally-aspirated production car ever made.
Unleash its performance and you should find yourself doing 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 2.9 seconds on your way to a top speed of 340 km/h (211 mph), figures that aren’t too different than those of the lighter F12tdf.
Meanwhile, the McLaren utilizes a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8, which produces 720 PS (710 HP) and 770 Nm (568 lb-ft), at least officially. Unofficially, the 720S has been known to put down a lot more during dyno tests – which also explains how it can beat theoretically faster rivals.
During its high speed runs, the 812 managed to hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in 3.06 seconds, 100 mph (161 km/h) in 6.27 seconds, did 60 to 130 mph (96 to 209 km/h) in 6.95 and covered the 1/4 mile in just 10.85 seconds at 133.4 mph (214.7 km/h).
That’s pretty darn impressive… is what everybody not driving a McLaren 720S would say. The Macca has previously destroyed everything, from stock and and even tuned supercars, to electric cars such as the Tesla Model S P100D and even BMW‘s S1000RR superbike – and now adds another Ferrari to its list of victims…
