We all know that every now and often, a sinkhole opens up somewhere in the world, due to a number of reasons, and decides to swallow a vehicle.

This story is a little similar, only it’s not the ground giving way and trying to eat vehicles, but rather a drainage hole that, somehow, most drivers seem to not take serious notice of.

The following video recently emerged on Reddit and shows a ditch right next to the driveway somewhere in Houston, Texas.

The front-facing security camera of a local resident has captured footage of multiple inadvertent local drivers accidentally driving into the ditch.

Writing on Reddit, the home owner responsible for the video said vehicles drive into the ditch all too frequently.

“It is deeply amusing. I get an evil thrill of glee when I get a notification from my camera and see in the little thumbnail that there’s a car there.”

The first clip shows an electrician driving a large white pickup straight out of the adjacent driveway and directly into the ditch where the front driver’s side wheel falls in. Another video shows the driver of a white van attempting to reverse and make a three-point turn in the street. Unfortunately, they too drive into the hole.

It doesn’t appear as if residents on the street are immune from the ditch’s magnetic powers, either. One video shows a man reversing right into the ditch which backing out of his driveway. With the help of some people, the Santa Fe was pushed out, seemingly without any serious damage.

What’s puzzling in this situation is that no one seems to be doing anything about it. For example, they could easily put a metal grate over it and prevent further accidents. It’s not like you have to be a rocket scientist to figure something out, yes?
