As Bugatti continues to ship more units of the Chiron to different parts of the world, some of them end up at the drag strip for some good ol’ racing fun.
So far, we’ve seen the Chiron go up against a B5 Audi S4 with an alleged 1,300 PS (1,282 hp / 956 kW) produced by a heavily tuned engine, as well as a Veyron SS.
As for the example filmed below, it was challenged by something less powerful than the aforementioned vehicles, yet more exciting on other levels: a McLaren 720S.

The British supercar is said to have been tuned, to the point where its twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine now makes 861 PS (849 hp / 633 kW), or 141 PS (139 hp / 104 kW) more than the stock model. But with 1,500 PS (1,479 hp / 1,103 kW) available on tap, the balance still tilts in favor of the Bugatti Chiron, which is quicker to 100 km/h (62 mph), needing less than 2.5 seconds for the sprint, and has a higher top speed, too.
But you can never rule out the McLaren 720S in a straight-line fight, as it has made a name for itself by humiliating more powerful machines. Obviously, it cannot shame the Bugatti Chiron, regardless of how skilled the driver is, but it’s sure interesting to see which of the two is faster in a 1,000-meter (0.62 miles) sprint, and by how much. The answer lies just a mouse click away.
