This past month, Lamborghini brought a convoy of seven Urus SUVs to Iceland as part of their ‘Avventura’ series, organized to discover some of the most spectacular places and roads in the world.
After touching down in locations such as Andalusia, Transylvania and Norway, Iceland with its unique landscapes was next, and as you can see, the trip was definitely worth making, resulting in a whole bunch of amazing shots.
The high-performance SUVs traveled roughly 900 km (560 miles) in two days, encountering multiple conditions, from sun to gusty wind, rain and even snow. The expedition set off from the Reykjanes peninsula in the southwest (at the famous Blue Lagoon), from where the vehicles continued along the southern coast.
In their expedition, they encountered the cliffs of Krysuvikurberg, named after two trolls according to legend, followed by the black sand beach of Raynisfjara and the promontory of Dyrhólaey – the latter featuring a large natural stone arch that projects out into the sea.
By shifting the Anima selector into ‘Terra’ mode, the Urus had no trouble going off-road, or driving across the moss-covered lava fields nearby the Laki volcano. Other locations that were visited included the iceberg lagoon of Fjallsárlón at the southern end of the Vatnajökull glacier, and the glacier lagoon Jökulsárlón. The journey concluded in Reykjavik, the country’s capital.
From afar, all we can do is imagine the Urus’ 650 PS (641 HP) 4.0-liter twin turbo V8 sounding off in such beautiful places, where no other Lamborghini has ever set foot.
