As of last week, BMW’s flagship high-riding vehicle is no longer the X6, but the X7, a model that allows it to tap into yet another segment.
Aimed against the likes of the Range Rover and Mercedes-Benz GLS, it’s the company’s largest and most luxurious SUV ever. It’s easily recognizable as a BMW thanks to the specific exterior design, and can sit up to seven occupants inside, depending on the configuration.
As its flagship SUV, the X7 doesn’t lack the latest and greatest features. Thus, it comes with equipment such as Wi-Fi hotspot, wireless smartphone charger, four-zone climate control, a couple of 12.3-inch displays, with one of them serving as the digital instrument cluster and the other the infotainment system, and a panoramic glass sunroof. These are joined by a premium sound system, rear-seat entertainment, and several colors and trims to choose from.

An X8 is probably coming, as a coupe version of the X7 in the mold of the X2, X4 and X6 – but there’s nothing official just yet.
Even so, the internet has done it again, and has rendered the BMW X7 in different shapes, from a really silly-looking pickup to a hardcore off-road version. The images are the work of Aksyonov Nikita, and include a slammed and tuned version of the X7, too, with a wide body kit, imagined in several very colorful finishes.
Among the digital images, we find one that might actually hit dealers in the near future: the X7 M. If BMW decides to launch such a model, then odds are it will pack the 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 from the upcoming X5 M with as much as 600 PS (592 hp / 441 kW).
