Nissan has launched three new editions for its Patrol range in the Middle East.
Exclusively developed for Middle East markets, the new vehicles are inspired by two of the desert’s most iconic animals, the falcon and the gazelle, hence their names: Patrol Falcon, Gazelle, and Gazelle-X.
All of them feature the same 4.8-liter inline six-cylinder gasoline engine mated to a five-speed manual or five-speed automatic transmission. The power plant delivers 280 hp and 452 Nm (333 lb-ft) to all four wheels via the standard 4WD system.
Hardware upgrades consist of a fifth-gear overdrive for manual models, increased front and rear differential ratios, 4-inch lift kit and a tuned remote reservoir shock suspension. A new performance exhaust system is also on the menu.
Let’s see what each of the special edition Patrols brings new to the table.
Patrol Falcon
The Patrol Falcon special edition features unique body stripes, a chrome front bumper, silver satin front skid plate, and LED beam light bar. It also gains new exterior accessories such as semi-gloss black wheel arches and spoiler, halo-shaped Daytime Running Lights, and gleaming exhaust tip. Other exterior details include a chrome-finished petrol can holder and a falcon-design wheel cover.
Inside, the Patrol Falcon gains tan-leather seats with falcon badge embroidery and a refrigerated cooler box.
Patrol Gazelle
Like the Falcon, the Patrol Gazelle features a unique body decal, as well as new fender flares, 17-inch bronze colored alloys in a rally car design, and 285-mm (11.2-in) multi-terrain tires. Styling tweaks also include a blackened front grille, smoked headlights and taillights, plus a gazelle emblem on the engine hood. Finally, there’s a roof spoiler designed for holding flags.
The interior features bespoke tan leather seats and door trims, with a Gazelle logo embossed on the seats completing the look. Besides the styling modifications, the Patrol Gazelle sports off-road features such as an air snorkel, 2-inch lift kit with Nissan red coil springs, and a front electrical winch with a 4,300 kg (9,480 lb) capacity.
Patrol Gazelle-X
The final special edition is a more hardcore version of the Gazelle. It adds steel front and rear bumpers with rubber protection, custom front skid plate, a front hood scoop, as well as black and red 17-inch off-road alloys shod with 315-mm (12.4-in) tires. Additional features include a roof rack, 30-inch LED light bar, and a cage behind the second row of seats to ensure all outdoor gear stays in place.
