Police had to taser a man who was filmed smashing his own BMW with a baseball bat in what appeared to be a road rage incident, according to eyewitnesses.
The scene unfolded in North London just before 1 PM this past Sunday, and authorities were on the scene shortly after the man began bashing his car, to the astonishment of other motorists, some of which began filming what was happening.
When the Police arrived, the man, thought to be in his 30s, was seated behind the wheel of his BMW, still visibly aggressive and looking to cause damage by punching the windshield. That’s when he was tasered at least twice, as reported by The Mirror.
“I pulled up at the traffic lights and the middle-aged white man picked up the baseball bat and started smashing the windscreen of his car. Pieces of glass were flying at my car, I had my daughter and her friend in the car – they were terrified,” said an eyewitness. “It all happened so fast, he was clearly a danger to the public.”
“The police arrived within minutes, they shot him once with the Taser but he didn’t stop. They Tasered him again and then we had to pull away because another police car arrived to help the other two officers. It was really scary and not a nice thing for the children to see.”
After the confrontation was over, authorities took the man to a hospital as a precaution.
