The crew over at SpeedKore have created what could very well be the fastest Dodge Challenger SRT Demon on earth.
The Demon in question, which will be revealed at SEMA in Las Vegas, has undergone a series of modifications that make it brutally quick. In fact, this is now an 8-second car.
Demons that leave the factory are fitted with a 6.2-liter V8 engine fed by a huge supercharger and delivering 840 hp and 770 lb-ft (1043 Nm) of torque. This allows it to launch down the quarter mile in a frightening 9.65 seconds.
Not satisfied with those figures, SpeedKore decided to ditch the supercharger and replace it with a pair of huge turbochargers. These turbos, working alongside a plethora of other modifications, allow the engine to deliver roughly 1400 hp at the flywheel or exactly 1203 hp at the rear wheels.
During recent testing of the vehicle, SpeedKore was able to send the beast down the quarter mile in just 8.77 seconds at 162 mph (260 km/h).
This Demon isn’t exclusively about neck-breaking performance. It also looks exquisite. Thanks to SpeedKore’s expertise with carbon fiber, all of the vehicle’s body panels are now gloss carbon. The tuner hasn’t said how much weight this saves, but the new skin would have certainly contributed to the car’s quarter-mile efforts.
