Toyota continues to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Hilux with a new top-of-the-line grade and a limited edition of its pickup truck.

Already available for order in UK from £31,046.01 ($40,797/€35,351) excluding taxes, the 2019 Hilux Invincible X sets itself apart from the rest of the family with a revised front end.

Changes include the new grille with gloss black inserts and contrasting chrome frame and a redesigned front bumper. The rear end of the truck comes with a new step and a silver under-run beneath the license plate.

The black theme is being continued in the cabin and contrasted by chrome inserts. Piano black elements can be seen on certain parts of the interior, too. Toyota has also added white dials and a TFT multi-info display with ‘Invincible X’ start-up animation in the instrument binnacle, leather upholstery and a model-specific silhouette of the frontal design on the key.

Regarding equipment, the 2019 Hilux Invincible X matches the rest of the lineup and has an infotainment system, Bluetooth, reversing camera, automatic air-con, leather upholstery and six-speaker audio system. The Toyota Safety Sense package of driving assistance systems is standard and brings Pre-Collision System, Lane Departure Warning and Road Sign Assist, in addition to the cruise control.

Power is still provided by the 2.4-liter D-4D engine, rated at 150 PS (148 hp / 110 kW) coupled to a six-speed automatic transmission.

Those on the lookout for something more exclusive can order the Hilux Invincible X Limited Edition from £32,483.51 ($42,687/€36,988). This version is offered in 150 units in the United Kingdom and stands out thanks to two specific exterior colors, Scorched Orange and Nebula Blue, as well as 18-inch wheels alloys and an all-black cabin treatment.
