As car manufacturers look to slash research, development, and production costs of new models, they often decide to partner with other car manufacturers in certain projects.
The most current example of a tie-up between car manufacturers is Toyota and BMW, who teamed up to create the new BMW Z4 and the next-generation Supra. Inspired by this partnership, insurance company Budget Direct has rendered a number of mash-ups of imaginary vehicles created by many of the industry’s leading brands.
The first creation is a mash-up of the Bentley Continental GT and the Ferrari 812 Superfast. Although the proportions look a little weird, the Ferrari-inspired front fascia and the characteristic Bentley rear wheel arches actually work quite well together.
The second mash-up sees key design elements of the BMW i8 and Lamborghini Aventador S come together to create a curious-looking sports car. The front looks particularly odd due to the combination of BMW’s kidney grille and the sharp bumper and air intake design of Lamborghini’s flagship supercar.
Other mash-ups you’ll be able to find in the gallery below are a vehicle from Dodge and Chevrolet, one from Volkswagen and Ford, another from Nissan and Porsche and, last but not least, the weirdest of them all, a collaboration between Smart and Range Rover.
