Chevrolet Canada is expanding its Colorado range with two new special editions, the off-road Z71 Trail Runner and street-focused RST.

Both mark the four-year anniversary of the return of the Colorado midsize pickup truck for the 2015 model year. Canadian customers bought 24,000 Colorados since then and now they’re rewarded with two new special edition models that had their debut earlier this month in the United States.

The street-focused Colorado RST is inspired by RST models offered on Tahoe, Suburban and the all-new Silverado. Based on the LT grade, the 2019 Colorado RST brings a monochromatic exterior offset with black belt line and body side moldings. The truck also gains a black tailgate bowtie, as well as black Colorado and RST badges.

The sporty-flavored model is also the first Colorado to offer 20-inch wheels, finished in low-gloss black. Rounding off the upgrades is the flow-through Chevrolet lettered grille first introduced on the Colorado ZR2 Bison.

The same grille is featured on the 2019 Colorado Z71 Trail Runner off-road truck. Additional equipment includes the Colorado Z71 off-road package complemented by the Colorado ZR2’s underbody protection. Furthermore, the Trail Runner adds stamped aluminum front and mid skid plates, functional rocker protection, and 17-inch Goodyear Duratrac tires.

The 2019 Colorado Z71 Trail Runner expands the nameplate’s off-road-oriented lineup to four models. Customers can choose between the Colorado Z71, Colorado Z71 Trail Runner, Colorado ZR2, and Colorado ZR2 Bison, with the latter being the most hardcore iteration of the midsize truck released so far.
