The Fiat Cinquecento was an extremely compact, and pretty basic, city car whose production ended approximately 20 years ago, and the grandfather of the modern 500.

Now, the stock model won’t give anyone goosebumps, but this extremely modified example will.

For starters, it ditched the original puny petrol engine for a slightly larger one, mounted in the middle. The new powerplant comes from a 2012 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R, a superbike with mind-bending performance that revs to 12,000 rpm and churns out 250 horsepower.

With the wide wheel arches, meant to make room for the new rims wrapped in slick tires, custom front end, visible exhaust and a few other modified parts, the exterior of this Cinquecento denies it a ‘sleeper’ status.

The same story continues inside, where the original interior of the city car has been ditched and the only things you’ll find are a single seat, roll cage, racing steering wheel and basic instrument cluster.

The crazy Cinquecento was filmed not long ago taking to the track, where it showed that it indeed goes like stink and is also quite a handful.
