The all-new 2020 Toyota Corolla Sedan will be unveiled live in just a few minutes ahead of the Guangzhou Auto Show.

The Japanese marque published a teaser image of the North American specification 2020 Corolla Sedan a few days ago. It revealed that the vehicle’s front fascia will look essentially identical to the hatchback and wagon already available in Europe.

Consequently, the car will have an aggressive and sporty exterior design, complete with a bold front fascia, sharp headlights, and attractive taillights.

Underpinning the Toyota Corolla Sedan will be the same TNGA platform as the hatchback. These underpinnings are bound to lead to an increase in cabin space over the outgoing model and will support a selection of new engines.

Like the U.S.-spec Corolla hatchback, sedan variants bound for the States will be powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder pumping out 168 hp and 155 lb-ft (210 Nm) of torque. Customers will have the option of a six-speed manual or a CVT.

In terms of safety equipment, Toyota will outfit the Corolla Sedan with systems including Lane Tracing Assist, Road Sign Assist, and an updated Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection. These systems come part of the Safety Sense 2.0 suite.

Complementing the car’s bold exterior looks will be a thoroughly revised interior that includes an infotainment system with an 8-inch display outfitted with Apple CarPlay and an Entune 3.0 Audio system. An optional 800-watt JBL sound system will also be available.

U.S. pricing for the 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback starts at $19,990 for the SE and $22,990 for the XSE. Similar prices for the sedan are inevitable.
