Audi is extending the new Q3’s engine range by adding four additional options for European customers.
The new additions raise the new Q3’s engine/transmission variants to seven in total. The two new petrol versions feature the 2.0-liter TFSI with different outputs, while the new diesel models use the 2.0-liter TDI unit in similar fashion.
The range kicks off with the 1.5-liter TSI petrol with 147hp (150PS) and 184lb-ft (250Nm) of torque in the Q3 35 TFSI. The engine features a cylinder deactivation system for better fuel economy (31.4 mpg UK/ 32.7 mpg US combined) and comes with either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed dual-clutch S Tronic transmission.
Next up is the Q3 40 TFSI, featuring the 2.0-liter TFSI with 187hp (190PS) and 236lb.ft (320Nm) of torque, paired to a seven-speed S Tronic and Quattro all-wheel drive as standard. Audi claims a 0-62mph (100km/h) in 7.4 seconds and a top speed of 136mph (220km/h).
The more powerful Q3 currently in the range is the 45 TFSI, where the 2.0-liter TFSI engine produces 227hp (230PS) and 258lb-ft (350Nm). 0-62mph (100km/h) comes in 6.5 seconds, while top speed is 145mph (233km/h).
The diesel range consists of the Q3 35 TDI, which is powered by a 2.0-liter TDI engine with 147hp (150PS) and 250lb-ft (350Nm) of torque. Combined with front-drive and the S Tronic transmission, the base diesel version of the Q3 returns 48 mpg UK (50 mpg US) combined. 0-62mph comes in 9.2 seconds, with top speed set at 128mph (207km/h). There’s also the option of a six-speed manual and Quattro drive.
The range-topping diesel model is the Q3 40 TDI, which gets the 2.0-liter TDI, only here it makes 187hp (190PS) and 295lb-ft (400Nm) of torque. Combined fuel economy is 42 mpg UK (42.8 mpg US), while 0-62mph comes in 8 seconds.
