Ghost cars are terrifying as they appear out of nowhere and usually cause an accident.
That’s the case in this dashcam video which was recorded in Warren, Michigan earlier this month. As you can see in the footage, the driver of the dashcam-equipped car is stopped at a red light next to a Mercury Mariner.
After the light turns green, both vehicles take off. Everything is fine until they cross the next intersection where the Mariner is rammed by another vehicle which appears out of nowhere. The force of the impact is pretty intense as it destroys the front of the Mariner and causes the crossover to spin at least 90° while catching some air in the process.

The ghost car then appears to hit the dashcam-equipped vehicle as debris from the first collision showers the car. The footage ends shortly thereafter, but the slow motion footage appears to show the vehicle that caused the collision was a Nissan Altima, but it’s hard to be certain as it’s only visible in a few frames.
Regardless, the uploader says the crash occurred on December 29th when the car ran a red light. The uploader goes on to say the driver also ran another red light and no one suffered any life-threatening injuries as a result of the crash.
It remains unclear why the driver ran the red light, but one commenter says she was looking at her GPS and wasn’t paying attention to the road.
