Fresh from the ‘what the heck department’ comes this bizarre video that shows a Jeep Grand Cherokee nearly hitting two people who were simply cleaning their car.
There’s no word on when or where the video was taken, but it shows a car wash and a handful of people using the facility’s vacuum cleaners. Everything appears to be going fine until the Grand Cherokee’s owner gets into the vehicle and begins reversing out of their spot.
While the driver starts off pretty slow, they rapidly accelerate towards a Honda Accord that is parked at a different vacuum cleaner. Thankfully, the Accord’s driver looks up and begins running backward in an attempt to avoid being hit.
His quick thinking is only partially successful as he’s eventually knocked to the ground. The driver then rapidly shifts into drive and almost hits the Accord’s female passenger who was apparently trying to get the driver to stop.

The driver doesn’t stop right away and eventually hits a platform where a vacuum cleaner is located. As the woman rushes to check on the man, the Grand Cherokee appears to rev its engine.
The bizarre situation doesn’t end there as the driver opens the door and begins inching forward. The driver eventually puts the Jeep into park and gets out of the vehicle as the footage comes to an end.
Given the limited context, it’s not exactly clear what caused this to happen. The Grand Cherokee was slowly reversing at first, so it seems unlikely that the driver was confused. The rapid acceleration after hitting the man is also puzzling, but it is possible the driver briefly thought about fleeing the scene.
Regardless, everyone seems to have escaped unharmed despite a couple of close calls.
