In the previous decade, few cars were less bonkers than the Mercedes AMG Black Series models; and among them, one particular ride stood out: the SL65.
Created in a time when the AMG brand hadn’t been fully integrated into Mercedes, it’s still the brand’s most powerful car to date.
The twin-turbo 6.0-liter V12 churns out 661 hp (670 PS / 493 kW) and 738 lb-ft (1,000 Nm) of torque, enabling it to rocket to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.8 seconds and up to a top speed of over 199 mph (320 km/h).

Despite the massive output, 550 lbs (250 kg) weight reduction over the standard SL65 (mostly by ditching the folding roof for a fixed one) and impressive performance for a vehicle made last decade, Renntech gave the SL65 AMG Black Series even more power.
Thus, they have injected it with 810 hp (822 PS / 604 kW) and 1,000 lb-ft (1,356 Nm) of torque, which are still channeled to the rear wheels via a 7-speed transmission, updated by the German tuner to help it cope with the extra oomph.
Stopping power comes from larger rear brakes, and Renntech has also added carbon fiber air ducts to the already impressive German supercar.
Sadly, we don’t know how quick Renntech’s Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG Black Series is with those upgrades. Nonetheless, with more power than the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ, we gather it’s even faster than the already monstrous stock Black Series.
