Seeing images of supercars carrying Christmas trees on their roofs used to be cool, but the trend has become so played out that we’re no longer impressed like we once were.
One trend that isn’t played out, however, are videos of Monster Energy-sponsored athletes hooning around the wilderness. If such a video needs to feature a Christmas tree, well then so be it. For this video, Monster called upon the skills of Kyle LeDuc, a five-time champion of the Lucas Oil Off-Road Series.
Tasked with picking up a Christmas tree and delivering it home, LeDuc has to cross some harsh terrain and put his driving skills to the test.
The vehicle driven by LeDuc is a bespoke off-road, racing pickup that’s been designed to mimic the look of a Ford F-150 Raptor. However, LeDuc’s weapon of choice is much, much more capable when the going gets tough than even the Raptor you’ll find at a local showroom.
In the racer’s sprint to get home, he performs a number of huge drifts and bold stunts, including a huge 235 foot (71 meter) jump. By the time LeDuc returns home with the tree, the wind has torn it to shreds, much to the displeasure of his female partner.
As weak as the storyline of the video is, LeDuc’s exceptional driving makes up for it. The cinematography is also very impressive.
