Depending on the model and overall condition, E-Types tend to sell for steep sums. This has opened up a new market for companies that specialize in breathing new life into Jaguar’s icon.

One of them is E-Type UK, which has presented a completely restored 1973 E-Type Series 3 2+2. Commissioned by one of their clients, who wanted to keep the classic look while improving the driving characteristics, it was completely stripped down and all body panels were repaired.

An aluminum bonnet has been added to reduce the weight at the front, and everything was finished in Opalescent Gunmetal. Rounding up the exterior design are the 16-inch Turino wheels, said to have been chosen not only for aesthetics, but because they can be equipped with modern tires that improve traction.

The cabin has been re-trimmed in Oxblood Red leather and fitted with a 15-inch wooden steering wheel and reel seat belts with a classic look. The LED light conversion improves visibility at night and the original stereo system features new internals and offers Bluetooth capability.

Additional work has been carried out beneath the sheet metal. The V12 engine was rebuilt and fitted with electronic fuel injection, an upgraded cooling system and larger throttle bodies for increased air flow. The 5-speed transmission has been beefed up and there’s a new stainless steel exhaust system that ensures a deep soundtrack.

No expense was spared in the restoration process of this E-Type, and the finished project can be admired in our image gallery.
