After announcing U.S. pricing for their new A-Class Sedan, Mercedes have now confirmed that their latest model will also be the star of a 60-second Super Bowl LIII commercial, along with Atlanta-based rapper Ludacris.
The game is set to take place on February 3 at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. The German automaker owns naming rights for two major NFL stadiums, one being in Atlanta (home of the Falcons), and the other being the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, home of the Saints.
Having a Grammy Award winning artist like Ludacris show up next to the A-Class Sedan makes perfect sense, seen as how he is also a Mercedes-Benz brand ambassador, and the car is mostly aimed at millennial buyers, consumers between the ages of 22 to 37, as reported by Autonews.
The 2019 A-Class Sedan, set to go on sale next month, is priced from $33,495 (destination and delivery charge included), which means it just edges out the all-new CLA as the automaker’s least expensive model in the U.S. In entry-level spec (A 220), it comes with Mercedes’ advanced MBUX multimedia system, which features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus a 7-inch digital instrument cluster and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment display.
Other goodies include the standard Panorama roof, 17-inch alloy wheels, and LED headlights and taillights. On the safety front there’s Active Brake Assist, Crosswind Assist, and an adaptive braking system that includes Hill Start Assist and a HOLD function – everything at no extra cost.
