A bus smashed into a stationary car last month in Teresina, Brazil and as far as we can tell, it was mostly, if not entirely, the car driver’s fault for parking so far away from the curb.
It’s just one of those situations where all you can do is shrug and say that accidents happen. At least that’s probably how the bus driver looked at it.
The bus was actually getting towed
At first, we assumed that the second bus, the one that crashed into the white car, was simply driving way too close to the first bus, and therefore its driver couldn’t really see much of anything towards the right side of the road.
However, after viewing the footage multiple times, it seems that the second bus was actually being towed by the first one, which would explain why the distance between them was so small. Should the driver of the second bus have followed the direction of the first bus religiously? Probably, but then again, they would have had no reason to think that somebody would go and park their car nearly 7 feet from the curb.
Unfortunately that’s exactly what happened. Upon contact, the white car was propelled into another stationary vehicle, which then hit a small motorcycle. Also, a pedestrian thankfully managed to get out of the way in the nick of time.
