Just when you thought Porsche had run out of ideas for its popular Top 5 Series on YouTube, the sports car manufacturer dropped a new clip in the series. This particular video lists the Top 5 loudest Porsche models.
One important thing to note about this video is that it only includes Porsche models sitting in the storage facility at the Porsche Museum. It’s therefore possible that there are even louder stock Porsche models out there.
The first car included in the Top 5 is the iconic Porsche 911 SC ‘Safari’, complete with an iconic Martini livery. Not limited by noise regulations like road cars, this potent racer emits a peak of 122.9 decibels when being revved in the storage facility. To put that into perspective, it’s roughly as loud as a chainsaw.
Next up is a 996-generation Porsche 911 RSR. The successful race car emits a thunderous scream and on the decibel meter, records a peak of 123.4 decibels.
In third place is the Porsche 928 ‘Trigema’, a vehicle which many people may not even know exists. The car was recently restored by a number of Porsche apprentices and delivers a truly animalistic roar. It hit 126.4 decibels at full throttle.
The final two cars featured are the 1962 Porsche 804 Formula 1 car and the Porsche 911 Carrera RSR Turbo 2.1. Which do you think will be the loudest? Check out the video below to find out.
