Lexus’ lighter, faster and meaner-looking RC F Track Edition is coming as a more daring rival to the likes of the BMW M4, Audi RS5 and Mercedes-AMG C63.
Set to debut at the 2019 Detroit Auto Show next Monday, the upcoming RC F Track Edition is now teased on a short video, which offers a glimpse of the more track-focused model and gives us a taste of that V8 soundtrack.
Toyota’s luxury arm didn’t have anything to say about the new RC F Track Edition. However, from previous reports and spy shots, we know that it has some carbon fiber upgrades, such as the hood, roof, side skirt extensions, large rear wing and probably others.

Thanks to the use of the lightweight material, the car is expected to shed some of its weight, although the exact figure is still unknown.
Lexus’ engineers are thought to have worked their magic in other areas of the RC F Track Edition, including a high-performance exhaust and better cooling and lubrication systems.
The 5.0-liter V8 engine is still found under the hood, but we don’t know the exact output. In the outgoing iteration, it makes 467 hp (474 PS / 348 kW) and 389 lb-ft (527 Nm) of torque. The same unit is punchier in the LC 500, producing 471 hp (478 PS / 351 kW) and 398 lb-ft (540 Nm) of torque.
