Popular automotive YouTuber Salomondrin has released footage of his prized McLaren Senna being destroyed by fire.

Carscoops broke the story on the fire on New Year’s Eve after a member of the local fire authority shared images of the scorched British hypercar online. In the video below, Salomondrin describes exactly what happened on the night of the fire.

Salomondrin, whose real name is Alejandro Salomon, says that he was driving the hypercar with his wife in the passenger seat in the lead-up to the fire. Shortly after reaching the top of a hill in California, the car enthusiast noticed flames coming out of the exhaust and small sparks being strewn across the road behind him.

Rather than immediately pulling over in an area covered with trees, Salomon accelerated slightly and put the car in neutral to roll away from the thick vegetation and to an area with fewer trees. He was ultimately able to pull over in a local driveway before immediately jumping out with his wife and calling 911.

While waiting for fire crews, Salomon started to film the scene. Over the ensuing minutes, the blaze started to spread and there were a number of large explosions that sealed the hypercar’s fate.

Once the authorities arrived on the scene and doused the flames, Salomon was able to inspect the car. While the car’s front was left untouched, the entire rear end and interior were left a melted mess.

We imagine the blaze is being inspected and many online commentators believe Salomon may be getting his ducks in a row to file a lawsuit against the British manufacturer.
