Can a stock Audi RS3 Sedan be faster than a bona fide supercar? According to a video shot on New Year’s Day, the answer is, surprisingly (for some at least), yes!
With the ‘Dynamic’ driving mode on and the Launch Control function engaged, this RS3 Sedan turned out to be quicker from 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) than the Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2.
The Italian supercar, which preceded the Huracan, needed 3.9 seconds for the run. The RS3 Sedan, on the other hand, with its 400 PS (395 hp / 294 kW) and 480 Nm (354 lb-ft) of torque 2.5-liter five-pot, needs 4.1 seconds, according to official specs.

So, how did the RS3 Sedan turn out to be faster? We really don’t know, but one plausible explanation is that its all-wheel drive gave it much better traction off the line. Furthermore, the sporty four-door model ran on winter tires and in the wet, that played into its hands against the rear-wheel drive Lambo.
Besides the 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) run, the RS3 Sedan’s 0-200 km/h (0-124 mph) and 0-250 km/h (0-155 mph) sprints were measured as well, en route to its top speed which, in this case, was way over 260 km/h (162 mph).
Mind you, all these tests took place in a no-speed-limit zone of a German highway.
