Usually, when we think about classic Mustangs, it’s the first-generation model that comes to mind, in whichever iteration. It’s a well known fact that generations 2nd through 4th weren’t as popular, although things did improve once the fifth-gen model rolled off the line.

There is actually a design connection between the fifth-gen car and the original, which makes this discovery of a “beyond classic” Mustang all the more troubling.

Now, this… thing pictured here is a behemoth of a ride, one that we can’t imagine being easy to park, easy to maneuver around town or particularly easy to drive in general. Did the owner really need his Mustang looking like it belongs in a time period when cartoon dalmatians were being chased by evil elderly women?

Then again, this isn’t the type of mod you perform for practical reasons, but rather because you’re a fan of really old cars and you probably have the means and technical expertise (or know someone who does) to put something like this on the road.

The image was recently uploaded to a Reddit thread by someone with the username d3athstarr, after spotting it on the BQE (Brooklyn-Queens Expressway). Technically, this is not that bad of a mod, as no body panels seem out of place. Still, it is very weird-looking. And yes, it deservedly belongs in that thread.
