The Nurburgring leaves little to no room for error, but this McLaren 720S was masterfully controlled in between the apexes by a pro racing driver.
The unofficial timed lap seems to have taken place just a few days ago and shows, once again, Woking’s brilliant machine in action.
Mind you, with thesharp cornering and dizzying speeds reached by the British supercar, the video, shot from inside the cockpit, will probably give you an adrenalin rush.

As for the result, with a full lap completed in 7:08.34, the 720S is very fast, even on Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires. So, imagine what it can do on Trofeos, or a similar kind of rubber, on a good day…
The current Nurburgring record holder is Lamborghini, with the Aventador SVJ. The ultimate Aventador completed the course in 6:44.95 seconds last summer, beating the Porsche 911 GT2 RS by more than two seconds, and turning out to be about 7 seconds quicker than the Huracan Performante.
The Aventador SVJ was fitted with Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tires for the exciting run. These are an optional extra, along with other equipment available for the supercar, as the standard model is offered with P Zero Corsas.
Enough talking; grab a chair, if you’re not already sitting down, turn the volume up and hit play on the following video. Trust us, if you’re a petrolhead, it will be time well spent.
