If you’re going to race against a McLaren 720S, you best make sure that your ride has a huge amount of power, or else Woking’s Super Series is going to leave you for dead.
This Lamborghini Huracan Performante definitely has more than enough power, although the fact that it raced the McLaren over a half mile instead of a 1/4 mile made it difficult to predict the outcome.
It’s a well documented fact that you need a genuine hypercar in order to give the 720S a true run for its money in a straight line. The reason for that is the McLaren’s excellent aerodynamics, which makes it formidable at really high speeds – much like the ones you reach over a 1/2 mile distance.
Still, this VF Supercharged Huracan Performante is no joke as it produces 850 HP, approximately 130 HP more than the stock 720S. Unlike the McLaren, it also comes with all-wheel drive as standard and, on paper, it’s just as quick from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) even in stock form (2.9 seconds), so this tuned example should have no problem beating its Brit rival.
Alas, this equation is a little different and you can argue that the Lambo needs to cheat in order to be competitive against the 720S. What does this mean? We’ll let you see for yourselves.
