ABT introduced its new e-Transporter at the IAA Hannover commercial vehicle show last fall and now the company is following up with a modified variant.
Set to debut at the Geneva Motor Show, this particular e-Transporter has been equipped with an aerodynamic body kit which includes a sportier front bumper, extended side skirts and a large rear wing. The model also has a unique rear bumper with tailpipe covers as the e-Transporter is an electric vehicle.
Additional styling changes are limited, but the van rides on 20-inch gloss black wheels that are wrapped in Continental tires. The model has also been equipped with a custom wrap which draws inspiration from the RS6-E prototype which produced 1,004 (749 kW / 1,018 PS).
While the RS6-E was immensely powerful, the e-Transporter is not. Instead, it features a 37.3 kWh battery which powers an electric motor that develops 109 hp (82 kW / 111 PS) and 147 lb-ft (200 Nm) of torque.
The e-Transporter isn’t fast, but it can travel approximately 129 miles (208 km) on a single charge. The company also has plans for a long-range variant with a larger 74.6 kWh battery pack. This will double the van’s estimated range to approximately 248 miles (400 km).
The first deliveries of the e-Transporter are slated to begin in the third quarter and it will be joined by a smaller e-Caddy. The powertrain carries over, but it will only be available with the 37.3 kWh battery pack. Despite this, the model has an increased range of 137 miles (220 km) thanks to its lower weight.
