Custom cars are as unique as their owners and it appears someone was suffering from an identity crisis.
That’s about the only explanation we can come up with for this one-off Chevrolet Caprice which is part station wagon, pickup, Corvette and Camaro. Even the seller’s description alludes to this as it says “First impressions get people wondering, second impressions keep them wondering.”
Billed as a custom hot rod pickup, the model is based on a Caprice station wagon and features a Viper-esque front end complete with a clamshell hood. Moving further back, there’s flowing bodywork and a custom pickup bed with a hard cover. It lifts up to reveal a surprisingly small amount of storage space.
Other notable styling features include a Corvette-inspired rear fascia, a dual exhaust system and 17-inch American Racing wheels.
While the exterior styling is pretty unique, the cabin largely carries over from the Caprice. While it looks pretty dated, drivers will find a leather-wrapped steering wheel, wood grain trim and two-tone leather seats with SS badging. The truck also has air conditioning and power windows.
Power comes from a 6.2-liter V8 engine that was sourced from a Chevrolet Camaro. There’s no word on specifications, but the listing says the engine has a cold air intake and is connected to a four-speed automatic transmission.
Other notable features include a solid rear axle, a control arm and trailing arm suspension as well as ventilated disc brakes.
The one-off truck is listed on eBay and the seller is asking for $24,995 (£19,531 / €22,120). That seems a little steep, but whoever buys it will certainly standout from the crowd.
