Ferrari has released the first teaser video of their latest sports car.
The company is keeping details under wraps, but the model will be unveiled tomorrow before being shown at the Geneva Motor Show.
The teaser video is relatively short, but it provides several glimpses of the upcoming sports car. As you can see, the mystery model will have a steering wheel with paddle shifters and a Manettino switch featuring six different settings. There’s also a tachometer with a redline just shy of 8,000 rpm.
Additional details are hard to make out, but the clip shows a quick glimpse of the car’s engine as well as air intakes with carbon fiber inserts. The final image is a bit more mysterious, but it appears to a fence reflected in the model’s greenhouse.
A lot of details remain unclear, but Ferrari is working on a handful of different models. There have been contradictory rumors, but it’s possible the mystery model is the successor to the 488 GTB. It could debut in standard guise in Geneva and then be shown with a hybrid powertrain later this year.
Of course, everything remains unconfirmed and we won’t learn more until tomorrow. Regardless, Ferrari has previously said approximately 60% of its vehicles will have a hybrid powertrain by 2022. Besides being more eco-friendly than conventionally powered Ferraris, the company has said they will be “more fun to drive.”
Given this, it’s possible the mystery model could have a hybrid powertrain. However, that’s unclear as Ferrari is planning to launch a total of 15 new models between 2019 and 2022.
