BMW‘s latest 8-Series is still a novelty item, be it the Coupe or, as is the case here, the Convertible. Nevertheless, aftermarket specialists have already started rolling out their products for the new grand tourer.

For example, Forgiato has fitted it with a set of Orologio-M rims that come with either a regular gold outer edge, like you see here, or a rose gold one, and in 20, 22 and 24 inches in diameter.

BMW designed the new 8-Series to look sleek and dynamic, enchanting us with its muscular surfaces and sporty stance, something the old 6-Series Coupe/Cabrio failed to do, at least to this extent.

Now, we will argue that the sheer size of these wheels is too excessive for this car and that the Bimmer’s design doesn’t mix that well with the Orologio-Ms, which are supposed to remind you of a wristwatch in a retro type of way.

We guess they would look less out of place on something substantially bigger, like a Rolls-Royce Phantom or even a Mercedes-Maybach. For the 8-Series, though, a set of 20-inch M alloys with the Y-spoke design works much better in our opinion.

The car shown here is an M850i xDrive, which means power comes from a 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 good for 530 PS (523 HP) and 553 lb-ft (748 Nm) of torque that’s enough to get you from zero to 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 3.6 seconds.
