February 5 marks the Chinese Lunar New Year and welcomes in the Year of the Pig. To commemorate the special date and the hundreds of millions who celebrate it, Rolls-Royce has released special versions of the Ghost, Wraith, Dawn and Cullinan.
Unveiled over the weekend at the British automaker’s dealership in Beverly Hills, California, the Ghost, Wraith and Dawn are finished in a combination of Aurum, Mugello Red, and Diamond Black. The Lunar New York vehicles are also adorned with a special Rolls-Royce Year of the Pig badge and include Lunar New Year embroidery on the headrests.
As for the special-edition Cullinan, just three units have been built with the help of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group. From February 4-8, they will be shown at hotels in Boston, Miami, and Washington D.C. where guests will be offered a complimentary two-mile ride in them. The Cullinans in Miami and Washington D.C. are painted in Magma Red, while the one in Boston sports a Scala Red paint job and a cabin that combines black with Mugello Red.
The special Ghost, Wraith and Dawn currently residing in Beverly Hills are for sale, but the ‘Year of the Pig’ Cullinans aren’t available for purchase.
“Rolls-Royce Motor Cars and the Mandarin Oriental hotels share two very important things in common,” President of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Americas Martin Fritsches said of the Cullinans.
“First, a client base with exacting taste for luxury and second the ability to deliver an unparalleled luxury experience. To celebrate, especially with our Chinese clients and those who join them in welcoming a new year, is a pleasure and an honor.”
