There’s no doubt the M5 Competition is quick. Just how quick? Well, one example recently set an incredible 10.24-second quarter mile time at the Palm Beach International Raceway’s drag strip.
Mind you, the M5 Competition featured in the video below isn’t stock, as it features a JB4 Piggy Back Tune and a modified stock airbox which reportedly increases grunt to 700 HP.
When the M5 Competition leaves the factory, its 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 pumps out 616 hp, enough to power the car to 62 mph (100 km/h) in a blistering 3.3 seconds. In stock form, it runs the quarter mile in roughly 11 seconds. Depending on the conditions and the driver, it can be a little quicker or a little slower.

Either way, no stock M5 Competition is dipping in to the 10-second range, and it’s extremely impressive this example is approaching the 9-second mark with ‘only’ 80 hp more than a standard model.
