Alfa Romeo may no longer have Sergio Marchionne leading it, but it will continue to roll out emotional vehicles filled with character.

The Italian brand announced last year that it will build a successor to the gorgeous 8C Competizione.

At this point, limited details about the car are known, including what it will look like. We can assure you, though, that it will be nothing like this concept.

Designed by Matteo Gentile, the Gtl Evo Concept has an intriguing look with in a number of radical features. The front, for example, is made up of huge air intakes and thin LED headlights. There are also bulging wheel arches and a huge air intake at the base of the windshield that doesn’t seem to make much sense, but hey, it’s just a study after all.

Speaking of the windshield, it isn’t really a windshield and is instead a curved piece of glass which doubles as the roof of the concept as well as the side windows. This glass bubble roof has been accompanied by a set of thin cameras which replace traditional wing mirrors.

At the rear, the Alfa Romeo Gtl Evo is just as marvelous, thanks in particular to a low decklid, narrow taillights, and a large diffuser. No images have been presented of the vehicle’s interior, but if the exterior is anything to go by, the interior is probably just as futuristic. And just as unlikely to ever make it into production, too.
