The Grand Tour host James May isn’t a fan of modified vehicles and recently proved this when showing the world his Ferrari 308 GTB in a video for DriveTribe. Welcome to ‘Unpimp My Ride.’
The always-entertaining British presenter and journalist appears particularly horrified when discovering that his 308 GTB doesn’t have the OEM dust caps, or valve caps, on its wheels. Much to May’s displeasure, the items are lifted straight off a Honda. To May, this is absolute blasphemy and must be resolved.
Thus, May sourced a set of OEM caps from Ferrari and set about sorting out his ride. After taking off and replacing two of the valve caps, he stops to have a quick smoke of his pipe before finishing off the job and returning the Ferrari to perfectly original condition.

We may not be obsessed with keeping vehicles stock quite like May, but having Honda valve caps on a Ferrari, while not that important, is a bit weird. We can’t blame The Grand Tour host for making things right and helping to continue his ongoing series of ‘Unpimp My Ride.’
Funnily enough, Volkswagen launched a series of ‘Umpimp My Ride’ commercials back in the mid-2000s to help promote the Golf GTI. When you’ve finished watching the GT host returning his 308 GTB to stock, we recommend jumping on YouTube and discovering what VW’s version of ‘Unpimp My Ride’ was like.
