Lego Enthusiast Builds A 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500 Scale Model

By now, you probably know that we like well-made Lego cars. After all, what’s not to like about a scale model that costs only a fraction of the price of the real deal and can be disassembled and then put back together?

Take, for example, this Lego 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500. The project apparently took well over a month to complete and can currently be found on LegoIdeas, waiting for enough votes to hit the shelves.

Unlike other, factory-sanctioned efforts, though, we sadly have zero technical details to work with, so apart from the fact that it looks very good, front to end, there’s nothing else we can share.

Interestingly, the car it depicts hasn’t been officially launched yet, so, like the scale model, not all info are yet available. Ford, for example, hasn’t disclosed the 5.2-liter supercharged V8’s output, only stating that it has in excess of 700 horsepower.

What they did disclose is that, unlike the previous iteration, which tops out at 200 mph (322 km/h), the 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500 will be a tad slower. The targeted top speed is 180 mph (290 km/h), and for good reason: there are very few tracks in the United States where it can actually exceed this speed, so Ford decided that it would be best if it invested into improving other aspects of the muscle car, such as the dual-clutch gearbox and aerodynamics.
