The second generation Mercedes-Benz CLA can now be ordered in the United Kingdom, in three trim levels and with a choice of five powertrains.
The base spec is called the AMG Line and its standard equipment includes the MBUX infotainment system with a 10.25-inch screen in the middle and a 7-inch cockpit display, smartphone integration, inductive charging, two-zone climate control, heated front seats, leather upholstery, keyless go and others. Pricing starts from £30,550 ($40,127/€35,617).
For the AMG Line Premium, Mercedes is asking at least £32,045 ($42,091/€37,360). Added gear includes the 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, ambient lighting, dashboard camera, illuminated door sills and a rear arm rest.
The range-topping AMG Line Premium Plus gets multibeam LED headlights, adaptive highbeam assist plus, memory setting for the front seats, panoramic sliding sunroof and Energizing Pack and has a £33,540 ($44,054/€39,103) starting price.

Active Lane Keeping Assist and Speed Limit Assist are standard, whereas Blind Spot Monitoring, Braking Assist with cross-traffic, Distance Assist Distronic, Emergency Stop, Lane-Change Assist, Active Speed Limit Assist, Steering Assist, Evasive Assist and Pre-Safe Plus are part of the optional, £1,495 ($1,964/€1,743) Driving Assistance Package.
The CLA 180 and CLA 200 are powered by a 1.3-liter turbocharged four co-developed with Renault-Nissan, which puts out 136 PS (134 hp / 100 kW) and 200 Nm (148 lb-ft) of torque, and 163 PS (161 hp / 120 kW) and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque respectively.
The CLA 220 uses a 2.0-liter unit with 190 PS (187 hp / 140 kW) and 300 Nm (221 lb-ft) of torque and can be ordered with either front- or four-wheel drive, whereas in the CLA 250, the same engine has 224 PS (221 hp / 165 kW) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque.
All models are available with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, with a six-speed manual coming later.
The engine lineup will be expanded to include the CLA 220 d and CLA 220 d diesel versions later this year, and customer deliveries will begin this summer.
