It’s not every day that the classifieds show a low-mileage Ferrari Dino and yet that’s exactly the case with this 1975 example advertised on Copart.

We’re not going to go over the Dino history again, suffice to say Enzo Ferrari considered six- and eight-cylinder cars unworthy of the Prancing Horse. The old man didn’t have anything against those cars being sold under a different brand and that’s how the Dino marque came to be.

However, by 1976 Enzo Ferrari decided the V8-powered Dino 308 GT4 deserved to wear the Ferrari badge so all 308 GT4s built from May that year received the Prancing Horse logo and were officially sold under the Ferrari 308 GT4 name.

This 1975 Dino 308 GT4 didn’t have that luck, obviously — even though someone added Ferrari badging to it later on. What it didn’t have either was an owner with common sense. Just look at the ridiculous body kit it wears. Who does that to a Ferrari? Well, whoever did that didn’t even have the excuse of not knowing it was a Ferrari — just look at the Prancing Horse logos that are everywhere.

While the beautiful exterior penned by the legendary Marcelo Gandini during his stint at Bertone is pretty much ruined, we’re glad to see the interior appears to be in good shape. The seats look great, the dashboard does too, and the red carpeting seems in place. The odometer reads 41,254 miles (66,392 km) but Copart doesn’t guarantee for that.

The Dino’s condition is described as “normal wear” and it comes with a clean title. The auction ended earlier today and the final bid was $25,000. That’s a steal considering that a similar 308 GT4 with the stock bodywork is estimated at around $105,000. Of course, the buyer will have to spend quite a lot of money to bring it back to the original shape but something tells us their effort will pay off.
