Porsche’s Paint To Sample programme offers customers a near-endless array of colors to choose from when creating their dream Porsche. One of the most head-turning is ‘Ruby Star’.

Essentially an eye-popping shade of pink, Ruby Star is one of the rarest colors from Porsche you’re ever likely to find. Not many customers opt for it but when they do, they instantly have one of the most desirable Porsche’s on the roads.

The two Porsche 911 GT2 RSs featured in the Instagram post below are thought to be the only examples in the world painted in Ruby Star. The first of these two is an exceptional GT2 RS that was recently delivered to a customer in Salt Lake City, Utah. While this car misses out on the desirable Weissach package, the Ruby Star paint has been paired with satin black wheels and yellow brake calipers.

As for the second car in the gallery below, it is located in Manama, Bahrain and does have the Weissach package. This means there are a handful of weight saving measures that have been made, including the fitment of lightweight black wheels and a carbon fiber roof.

Few details about the respective owners of the sports car’s are known but it’s reported that the owner of the car in Salt Lake City also daily drives a Porsche 918 Spyder with over 10,000 miles (16,000 km) on it.

As a reminder, the 991-generation Porsche 911 GT2 RS is fitted with a twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter flat-six engine delivering 690 hp and 553 lb-ft (750 Nm) of torque.

A PTSRS story by @og_amer: Presenting the only two known PTS Ruby Star (sternrubin; non-metallic UNI; 82N) 991 GT2 RS cars in the world, located on opposite ends of the planet. The first (represented in pictures 1-7) was recently delivered in Salt Lake City, Utah, and sports LEDs in black, standard wheels in satin black, and full bucket seats, while the second (represented in pictures 8-10) is located in Manama, the capital of Bahrain, and sports the Weissach Package, magnesium wheels in satin black, black LEDs, full bucket seats, and the Club Sport Package. Since neither owner has an Instagram account, we have precious few details about the inspiration for either car, however we’re told that the Salt Lake City car is daily driven, and that its owner has what may be the highest mileage 918 Spyder ever with over 10,000 miles on the clock. The Manama car is an even bigger mystery, and we know next to nothing about it other than the fact that the owner gave his blessing for these pictures to be shared. Thank you to @saltcitycrew for the pictures of the US car and @porscheclubbahrain for providing images of the Weissach GT2 RS in Bahrain. Paging fellow sternrubin owners @flyinglracing and @konokars. What are your thoughts on what’s arguably the boldest color in Porsche’s history? #PTSRS
