A dramatic video has caught the moment when a father pushed his daughter out of the way of an oncoming sedan.
While the incident occurred last year, the Los Angeles Police Department recently released the footage as part of their effort to track down the driver who fled from the scene.
According to police, the two were crossing a street at the intersection of San Fernando Road and Hallett Avenue at approximately 5:15 pm on November 16th. As the pair near the end of the crosswalk, a sedan rapidly comes into view.

With only seconds to react, police said the father pushed his daughter out of the way. Unfortunately, the car then struck the man and sent him flying onto the sidewalk. He suffered a broken femur, but daughter only had scratches on her face.
Police are still looking for the driver as they committed a felony hit and run. However, this has been difficult as the surveillance video isn’t very clear and didn’t capture the car’s license plate. As a result, police aren’t entirely sure what make or model was involved in the accident but they believe it might be a Toyota Camry.
NBC Los Angeles talked to the father a few days ago and he believes the driver, who is reportedly an older woman, didn’t see him. As Michael DeVore explained, “Her head was barely over the dashboard. There’s no way she could’ve possibly seen me. She couldn’t have been that angry of an old lady to want to hit somebody and keep going.”
In a separate interview, DeVore told KTLA “I’m not a hero, I’m just a dad.” He also said he hopes the woman turns herself in.
