Driving a BMW E30 M3 at 215.5 mph (346.8 km/h) is something only the bravest people would ever consider. Driving a BMW E30 M3 at those speeds on ice sounds impossible. However, that’s exactly what happened at a special speed event in Sweden.
The event, held in Årsunda, Sweden, brought out a plethora of speed fanatics all looking to go as fast as possible across a frozen lack. Among them was the Buldre Racing Team and they just so happened to set a top speed record for a vehicle driving on ice.
Across its runs, the racing outfit’s E30 M3 set a two-way average of 212 mph (341 km/h) and topped out at 215.5 mph (346.8 km/h). Watching it fight for traction throughout virtually all of the high-speed run is frightening.

Obviously, this is no ordinary E30 M3. In fact, it doesn’t even feature a BMW engine and is instead fitted with Toyota’s legendary 2JZ complete with two massive turbochargers. All up, the engine delivers 1300 hp and 1163 lb-ft (1578 Nm) and results is perhaps the fastest E30 M3 on earth.
Buldre Racing Team was brought out to a hillclimb event in Germany last year and put on a spectacular show for those in attendance. Even on tarmac, it’s virtually impossible to effectively put all of its power to the ground. We’ve included an insane video of this hillclimb event below to show you just how ridiculous this car is.
