The 2019 Audi A8 remains Ingolstadt’s flagship model, and is available in the U.S. exclusively in 55 TFSI long-wheelbase spec with a $83,800 starting price.
This particular example, however, is the diesel-powered 50 TDI version and is currently on display at the automaker’s Neckarsulm showroom wearing a shiny Audi Exclusive Ara Blue metallic exterior, to go with its Audi Exclusive-customized cockpit.
The special-order paint job costs 3,100 euros ($3,493) extra in Germany. It looks almost the same as Audi’s Antigua Blue colorway, only a bit more sparkly, and it’s definitely not cheap.
As for the Audi Exclusive interior, it features blue leather seats, blue leather inserts on the door panel, blue stitching throughout and blue Alcantara on the headliner and door panels. The dealerships’ Facebook post doesn’t say how much this A8L costs in this configuration, but clearly, it goes way over the 50 TDI’s base price of 97,050 euros ($109,300) in its home market.
The A8L 50 TDI is powered by a turbocharged 3.0-liter mild-hybrid V6 diesel, with an output of 286 PS and 600 Nm (442 lb-ft) of torque. Despite weighing a little over two tonnes (4,400 lbs), it can still accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.9 seconds, before maxing out at an electronically limited 250 km/h (155 mph).
