The Mercedes-Benz X-Class is a pickup truck truly unlike any other.
Not only does the X-Class have a three-pointed star, but its interior is much fancier and luxurious than ordinary mid-size pickups. The Nissan underpinnings may rub a few people the wrong way, but if you want a pickup with style and comfort, it’s hard to look past the X-Class.
This is even more true for this exact X-Class. The example you’re looking at comes from Carlex Design, a company which has made a name for itself by producing wild and wacky interiors for all kinds of high-end vehicles. For the X-Class, Carlex looked to create something that would make occupants feel like they’re in a bush-bashing pickup but with all the luxurious elements you’d expect of a typical Mercedes-Benz.
You don’t want to get this dirty, do you?
With this in mind, the cabin is bathed in a mixture of white and brown leather. The white leather can be found across parts of the seats, door panels, lower dashboard, and steering wheel while brown leather adorns many of the other interior surfaces, including the transmission tunnel and center console. Wood is also found on the pickup’s dashboard and there’s even wood paneling in place of ordinary floor mats.
Other changes made by Carlex include the fitment of brown alcantara on parts of the doors, dashboard, and steering wheel, while the roof is clad in black alcantara.
Although it can handle it, most X-Class owners probably won’t test its off-roading skills that much, so there’s no fear of tarnishing this exquisite interior with things like dust, leaves or (God forbid…) mud.
